Time Waits for No Man

After a few long boring nights in the hotel room, I decided to purchase DVDs to loose the boredom that have engulfed me the whole week. While flipping through the stacks of DVDs among the shelves of a petite video shop at the hotel mall, I came across a title that really interest me — Kung Fu Panda (n_n). I took a copy of it, walk to counter and pay my way out of the boredomness.

I’ve seen the movie twice at the cinema and each time I went out of the cinema, I was really tired — tired because of so much laughing (^-^). Watching the DVD on a laptop doesn’t do it a justice, but I guess it will do, given the situation I am in now. I really love the movie as it is really funny and at the same time send us a lot of message through the wisdom of Master Ooghway. Hehe.

One particular phrase that I’ve taken to like from the movie out of all the wise word of the Old Turtle.

“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift. That’s why it is called –the present.”

Simple and attractive yet have a deep message. The past is past and tomorrow is unknown but today is the moment, so make full out of it. Time and tides wait for no man. So, use the time wisely. In Qoran there’s a special verse for time, Surah Al-Asr.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Time is witness that, surely, mankind suffers loss,
except for those of faith,
Who do good, and become a model of truthful living,
and together practice patience and constancy.

The verse reminds us (man) that we are suffering a great loss unless we make something good out of the time we had. This post is a reminder to myself(maybe others also) to rethink again on how we spend our time, for time is precious and no matter how fast we ran after them, we can never catch up to it. Why not spend the small time we had and seek the real meaning of life?? Live life to the fullest and for that we will never betray the time.
