Magic Hour

Taken from wikipedia

In photography, the golden hour (also known as magic hour) is the first and last hour of sunlight during the day when a specific photographic effect is achieved with the quality of the light during these hours.

Typically, lighting will be softer (more diffuse) and warm in hue, and shadows will be quite pronounced as a result of the sun being so close to the horizon. The sunlight is traveling obliquely (through more of the atmosphere) and striking objects at an angle, instead of straight down. The golden hour is a mild version of alpenglow, as described by Galen Rowell.

beautiful wide angle. and totally agree on that golden hour. on my first book, batik inspirations, we had to wake up at 430 to get the models make up ready & fitting.. to be on time for that morning sunrise.

luckily in between most shots were indoors… though we did have some outdoor in the afternoon as well – but slightly covered. surprisingly it turned out quite ok 🙂 (the colours were really rich).

and then again, the evening or parting shots – ah, the short moment but simply magical. i remember our very last shot of the whole 3 days project – it was really magical 🙂
