Anyway, there are a lot of things that I want to blog about but it’s been pretty “not-so-in-the-mood” for the last few months. Things about pride of Malaysian, about the environment and about life.

You know you are in trouble. Fortunately there is a simple solution.

You can find the actual error from Event Viewer:
“MS DTC log file not found. After ensuring that all Resource Managers coordinated by MS DTC have no indoubt transactions, please run msdtc -resetlog to create the log file.”

That is pretty much what you do. After restarting the machine type in cmd / command prompt:
msdtc -resetlog

Now start the service again and it will start without a problem.

Looking at these kids making me reminds how happy I was during my childhood and it’s our duty to protect this for our future..

Let say 1 billion user pledge to switch off 1 60Watts light bulb for 1 hour

60 x 1 billion x 1 hour = 60 billion Watts  = 60 million kWH

1 kwH roughly produce 16.44 pounds of CO2 emission

so, 60 millions x 16.44 pounds CO2 = 986,400,000 pounds of CO2 or 447,423.51 metric tonnes of CO2.

we need 2,700,000 trees to offset this carbon per year!!

Well, how much is 1 tonnes of CO2 worth

One tonne of carbon dioxide gas would fill a cube over 8 metres high.

Because we can relate to this illustration physically it provides a better sense of scale than the abstract number itself. Breaking large volumes up into discrete quantities (such as a number of one-tonne cubes) makes comparison easier. As viewers, we sometimes struggle to compare volumes, but we are very adept at comparing discrete quantities (numbers) of things.

Until now, it has been difficult to estimate how much climate will warm in response to a given carbon dioxide emissions scenario because of the complex interactions between human emissions, carbon sinks, atmospheric concentrations and temperature change. Matthews and colleagues show that despite these uncertainties, each emission of carbon dioxide results in the same global temperature increase, regardless of when or over what period of time the emission occurs.

These findings mean that we can now say: if you emit that tonne of carbon dioxide, it will lead to 0.0000000000015 degrees of global temperature change. If we want to restrict global warming to no more than 2 degrees, we must restrict total carbon emissions – from now until forever – to little more than half a trillion tonnes of carbon, or about as much again as we have emitted since the beginning of the industrial revolution.

“Most people understand that carbon dioxide emissions lead to global warming,” says Matthews, “but it is much harder to grasp the complexities of what goes on in between these two end points. Our findings allow people to make a robust estimate of their contribution to global warming based simply on total carbon dioxide emissions.“

How to enter Recovery Mode on the Creative Labs Zen Vision W MP3 player.

1. Ensure the unit is detached from the computer and powered off.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position while re-inserting the battery.

4. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode screen appears.

You will then have the option to Clean up, Format, Reload OS / Firmware or Reboot.

5. Named pipes protocol was diasabled in the SQL Server network configuration protocols.

The Solutions

1. If the WSS is in a server farm, use the “SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard” to disconnect the server from the farm.
2. go to Start >Program > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools >SQL Server Configuration Manager
3. Navigate to SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration > Protocol for MSSQLSERVER
4. Right click Named Pipes and select Enable (if not enabled)
5. Restart SQL Server
6. Join back the server to server farm using “SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard” and follow the wizards.

Note:

I haven’t tried skip all the steps and straight way to step no 4 and no 5 and check whether it solves the problem. Anyone can verify this is the only steps needed? Thanks
